Tara Levitin, an independent artist and jewelry designer who resides in
her native city Houston, TX with her family, hand makes her one of a
kind jewelry with antiques and art which give Leviticus it’s distinct
and memorable look.
Levitin’s passion for extraordinary art to wear started at the young
age of 9, when she won an award in her hometown for handmade jewelry.
Tara studied at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in
Los Angeles, CA. and after traveling across the United States with a
brief stop in New York City, Levitin eventually went back home to
Houston where she launched Leviticus Jewelry in 2005, named after her
late brother Levi.
The contemporary collection of hand made copper, raw brass, and
sterling silver jewelry is inspired by Levitin’s love of oddities,
music, and old movies. Tara’s creative mix of metals makes each piece
distinctive with a subtle nod to the antique feel she loves. Levitin’s
line includes necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, cufflinks and
coming soon… rings. Tara continues to spend her time searching for
inspiration all over the world.
Leviticus Jewelry has been well received within the editorial community
and has been seen in national and regional publications, as well as TV
worn by Rachael Ray, Leigh Lezark, from the Misshapes, Sarah
Lewitinn…aka Ultragrrrl, DJ and Founder of FTW!, Pixie from TLC’s LA
Ink and has been seen at Toronto Fashion Week.
All of the pieces in the shop are handmade by Leviticus designer Tara
Levitin. One-of-a-kind pieces are premade and all other pieces are made
when ordered.
